Cocktail Garnish: The Perfect Vanilla Sugar Rim

A rimmed glass is such an easy way to add a touch of elegance to cocktail hour. We love a sugar rim for slightly sweet, bubbly cocktails like the Vanilla-Fig Champagne Sparkler in our December issue. Here's how to get that vanilla sugar glimmer:

Combine 1/3 cup sugar granulated sugar and the beans scraped from 1/2 of a vanilla bean in a medium bowl. Rub the vanilla beans into the sugar using your fingers until evenly distributed and fragrant. Transfer to a shallow dish

Gather the cocktail glasses you plan to serve beverages in. Working one glass at a time, gently dip rim of each in a shallow dish of water or lemon juice to moisten. Immediately press gently in vanilla sugar to create a rim.

And bam—there ya go. Party perfection!
