How to Make Cinnamon Rolls
A warm, tender, and freshly iced cinnamon roll sounds good just about any time of the day. Follow these simple steps and see exactly how to make these tasty homemade treats.
Combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
Place dough on a lightly floured surface; roll dough into an 18 x 11-inch rectangle.
Brush melted butter over dough.
Sprinkle dough evenly with brown sugar mixture.
Beginning with a long side, roll up dough tightly, jelly-roll fashion.
Pinch the seam to seal. Do not seal the ends of the roll.
Cut roll into 1-inch slices. Arrange slices in glass or ceramic baking dishes coated with cooking spray. You can also use a metal baking pan. Just decrease the oven temperature by 25°. Cover and let rise until doubled in size, and bake until the rolls are lightly browned.
Combine icing ingredients in a bowl, stirring with a whisk until smooth.
Spread the icing over the warm rolls, and serve immediately.
