How to Make Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a classic weekend dish. This lightened version uses fat-free milk and less butter in the dough.

Step One: Main Ingredients

Combine brown sugar and cinnamon.

Step Two: Roll Dough

Place dough on a lightly floured surface; roll dough into an 18 x 11-inch rectangle.

Step Three: Add Butter

Brush melted butter over dough.

Step Four: Add Brown Sugar Mixture

Sprinkle dough evenly with brown sugar mixture.

Step Five: Roll Up Dough

Beginning with a long side, roll up dough tightly, jelly-roll fashion.

Step Six: Pinch Dough

Pinch the seam to seal. Do not seal the ends of the roll.

Step Seven: Slice and Bake Rolls

Cut roll into 1-inch slices. Arrange slices in glass or ceramic baking dishes coated with cooking spray. You can also use a metal baking pan. Just decrease the oven temperature by 25°. Cover and let rise until doubled in size, and bake until the rolls are lightly browned.
