How to Freeze Fresh Berries
In preparation for those cooler months when fresh fruit isn't widely available, stock up on your favorite fruits and freeze them.
Stocking up on and freezing seasonal berries, such as strawerries, blueberries, and cranberries, allows you to enjoy them year-round. In some cases, you don't need to thaw the berries before using them; for example, just add frozen berries straight to cake or bread batters.
Trim away any green leaves or stems, place berries in a colander, and gently rinse in cool water until clean.
Remove berries from colander, and spread on a dish towel; allow them to air-dry completely.
Distribute evenly on a jelly-roll pan, and place in the freezer for about an hour or until slightly frozen.
Remove from freezer, and transfer berries to a plastic zip-top bag. Store in the freezer for up to six months.
