Editorial fellow Mackenzie Cogle shares a bit about a fun grilling tool we recently tried in our Test Kitchens.

Here in the South, where temperatures seemingly rise by the minute and no one is in the mood to heat up their house for a meal, there’s no better time to fire up the Big Green Egg or the Weber and invite the neighbors over for a juicy steak or some savory smoked chicken. Still, man cannot subsist on smoked meats alone. Chances are, you’re going to want to pair your meaty main with a standout side.

The folks at Little Griddle Innovations have come up with a way to prepare a complete meal from your grill with their line of stainless steel grill-top griddles. With six sizes to choose from, this is one heavy-duty accessory you’ll want to add to your grilling repertoire.

In addition to having a built-in grease trough, each griddle can be easily cleaned right on the grill so there’s no need to wash in the sink. The Griddle-Q is ideal for those early morning campout breakfasts when you want to enjoy bacon and eggs in the great outdoors, but it can also be taken along to tailgates as well. You can even take your pancakes outside and prepare the perfect flapjack right on the Griddle-Q.

We tested the mid-sized Griddle-Q to prepare bacon and eggs and to sauté onions. Test Kitchen Professional Adam Hickman was impressed with the versatility of the Griddle-Q and recommends it for those grill masters or even beginners who want another reason to use their beloved grill.

“Having the ability to put a flat surface on the grill will really help you get the most out of your grilling space,” Hickman says.

Have you tried the Griddle-Q yet? What would you cook on this great griddle?
