Our Cooking Class columnist and author of the upcoming book, Mad Delicious, Keith Schroeder opened a new ice cream and sorbet facility in Marietta, GA this month. Keith is the creative genius behind High Road Ice Cream and Sorbet. To help celebrate the new facility, 6 pro-am teams prepared fresh cobbler and served it up with plenty of High Road’s ice cream last weekend. Votes were placed by community attendees enjoying all 6 cobblers and were tallied by text message.
My team mate was Linda Carmical (the food blogger behind Do.Food.Better) and a member of the Atlanta Food Bloggers Association. Linda is a delightful person and was great fun to spend the day with. Our cobbler was mixed fresh berries (blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries) with a hint of orange, nutmeg, and vanilla. Our topping was traditional pastry pie dough sparkling with demerara sugar.
