This crimson Turkish pepper boasts mild, smoldering heat and a fruity, slightly sweet flavor. Aleppo is tamer than traditional crushed red pepper, ideal for dishes that need a little more depth and just a smidge of heat, such as deviled eggs, pan-fried chicken, or simmered lentils. Try a pinch in brownies or other chocolaty baked goods, too. It won't make them spicy, but it adds addictive complexity.
