I threw a Christmas party last year, and I thought of almost everything ahead of time. That is, except for the music. Which is probably why we wound up dancing to Beyonce's "7/11" about ten times in a row. Or probably because of the tequila. Or maybe that was just me dancing, come to think of it...

Anyway. Music is a key element to getting the party started. The right soundtrack can make lukewarm PBR and cheese puffs as fun as caviar and champagne.

I put this list together to go with our guide to throwing a Casual Cocktail Party. It kicks off with the Rolling Stones, because that's just what you do. (Trust me: Try throwing "Paint it Black" on the jukebox at a crowded bar. It gets the party started.)

What's your favorite song to play at a party?
